In the spring of 2008, Radiohead announced a remix contest for their song Nude. Anyone could pay for the stems to the song on iTunes, and voting would close on 1 May.
Somehow, I was not made privy to this information until mid-April, which was very late in the contest timeline. With little time to do any true innovative remixing, I got to work on writing a complimentary piano melody for the outro of the song.
From concept to submission took a week, and I even made a video for the remix, releasing it a day after my submission. It’s available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYRwzAk1DpE.
Although I knew I wouldn’t win, I was happy with the result, and ecstatic with the beautiful accompanying melodic line of the outro. To perform it live, I transcribed it to guitar later that spring.
Recorded at Hunter College and my home studio in Brooklyn, April 2008.

To play this live during the summer of 2008, I transcribed the piano part to guitar (see the score). The arrangement is precisely like the piano version, but with multiple guitar overdubs.
There’s a video for this, also, but YouTube struck it down at some point for copyright violation. That’s interesting, because the company never struck down the original piano remix video, which they should have for the same violation.
