In all steps below, you may only use Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat to fill and sign any registration forms I’ve shared with you.
Before proceeding, carefully fill out all the entries pertaining to the course and your personal information. If I filled out the document before submitting it to you, check my entries and correct any errors.
Registering Between First Day and End of First Week of Classes
Two signatures needed: ①—Student. ②—Student’s advisor.
- Briefly state in the Reason section of the form, above the student’s signature field, why you’re registering late. It needn’t be detailed, but it does need to be clear.
- Digitally sign the form.
- Email the signed document to your advisor for their digital signature using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Have them email it back to you.
- Email the document with the signatures to the Center for Student Success, or css, at css@hartford.edu.
Registering Between First Week and End of Second Week of Classes
Three signatures needed: ①—Student. ②—Student’s advisor. ③—Instructor of the course in which the student is registering.
- In the Reason section of the form, above the student’s signature field, include a clear and detailed plan of how you expect to catch up with the material in class.
- Digitally sign the form.
- Email the signed document to your advisor for their digital signature using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Have them email it back to you.
- With yours and your advisor’s signatures, forward the form to the instructor of the course in which you’re registering late for their digital signature. They’ll email it back to you.
- Have your advisor email the document with the three signatures to css@hartford.edu.
Registering After the Third Week of Classes
Four signatures needed: ①—Student. ②—Student’s advisor. ③—Instructor of the course in which the student is registering. ④—The Dean or their designee.
- In the Reason section of the form, above the student’s signature field, include a clear and detailed plan for how you expect to catch up with the material in class. If your explanation isn’t convincing, your request to be overridden into the course will be rejected.
- Digitally sign the form.
- Email the signed document to your advisor for their digital signature using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Have them email it back to you.
- With yours and your advisor’s signatures, forward the form to the instructor of the course in which you’re registering late for their digital signature. They’ll email it back to you.
- Have your advisor email the document with the three signatures to the Dean or their designee for their digital signature. Ask if they’ll forward the form to css. If they don’t, then you’ll have to by emailing the document to css@hartford.edu.
- Someone at css will update the registration on record, then notify the submitter via email of the outcome.
