The Kookaburra
Kookaburras are common in Australia. They’re cute as hell and make a sound that is distinctively theirs, or perhaps ours: that of human laughter.
The Koala
Also endemic to Australia, the koala, which is a marsupial and not a bear, as commonly thought, sleeps up to twenty hours a day and feeds off eucalyptus leaves that are deadly to humans.
The Wallaby
Also a marsupial, the wallaby is essentially a small—sometimes tiny—kangaroo, or “roo,” as Australians call them, that uses its tail for balance and support.
